Beautiful Day for Sailing

Sometimes the month of August gifts us with the perfect weekend weather of low humidity and moderate temperatures.  A week ago we had such a weekend.  This sailboat was taken at Hull Gut on Saturday of that perfect weekend.  The sun created shimmering dances of light on the water, the sky was a clear stunning blue and there was a light breeze.  There were many sailboats, motorboats and fishing boats that passed through the Gut that day.

Hull Gut is in the town of Hull which is located on a peninsula at the southern edge of Boston Harbor in Massachusetts.  Hull Gut is a narrow channel about a half a mile wide and thirty-five feet deep. Occasionally, oil tankers and freighters can be viewed passing through the Gut at high tide to reach industries on the South Shore.

Welcome!

Thank you for stopping by my new website. I enjoy many activities such as photography, travel, writing, genealogy, sewing, crafting, history, or anything that happens to come along that interests me.

Zakim Bridge, Boston

I learned a long time ago that it's quite okay to be interested in a lot of things and subjects. My website will most likely be ever-evolving, with a variety of topics. It will be fun to see what emerges!
